How to secure your test with Schoolyear – Sowiso Knowledge base

Schoolyear is a safe exam workspace which helps you secure your online assessments. It transforms any device into a safe environment for online exams, even when students bring their own devices.

Once the connection between Schoolyear and Sowiso has been established, you can start securing your Sowiso tests with Schoolyear.

Step 1

Log into your Sowiso environment.

Step 2

Create a test in your class. Make sure you are aware of the procedure for giving extra test time during a SchoolYear test.

When you are ready, navigate to test "Settings".

Step 3

Go to test "Settings".

Under the "Security" section, find "Schoolyear". Choose "Yes" from the dropdown menu to enable the integration.

Step 4

Schoolyear settings can be accessed from the same place, in test "Settings", under "Security".

Alternatively, they can also be accessed from the "Tests" page, by clicking on the cog symbol.

This will take you to the Schoolyear settings page.

Accessing the Schoolyear dashboard

Go to "Teacher", "Tests" and find your test. Click on the dashboard symbol to access the Schoolyear dashboard.

Here is where you can find the Proctor key/pin, which can be used for students trying to re-access a Schoolyear test that was closed before it was submitted.
